Atelier Ciseaux Mixtape

Summer!
Atelier Ciseaux is (another) nomadic label that has one foot in Canada, the other in France, hyperactive, the label has issued more than 40 releases and will happily celebrate its 10 years anniversary in september.Remi, boss of the label, made us a wonderful mixtape full of sunny poptunes from all around the world so we can all sweat on the beach while trying to make eye contact… In his own words: ” Everyone is heading towards its own catastrophe. For now, tomorrow can wait. Here are some tracks which can make the present more bearable. From an unknown Ethiopian band to modern pop makers, I hope you will feel the “now”.”

Aka Jetboy's mixtape

Born in Chili, part of the NYC Club Kids scene in the late 80s (Oliver Twisted, that was him!), then into the 90s dischord in DC, turning into fashion photographer, opening a store which soon became the shelter of all DIY people in Paris… JetBoy had many names and lives, but kept one thing constant: a huge appetite and a true love for popular culture.
1/2 a century of experiments and generosity. Happy Birthday Ol’Man!!!
45 mn of oldschool 90s breakbeat/jungle, or in his own words:
“SOY LENTO MIX. A raunchy mix of jazzy breaks, dirty beatz, with a splash of drum&bass. A perfect soundtrack for high friends in low places.”

Bob Junior's mixtape

Radio Bongos #10! This month’s tape was made by our good friend Bob Junior. When he’s not busy running the best club in Rome (and possibly Europe) Fanfulla, this überactive man can been seen playing keys in the synthpunk duo Holiday Inn (a new LP soon on Maple Death) and bass in Kraut/psych band Trans Upper Egypt. And he still finds time to run a tape label…
Speaking of tape, this one is the real deal because yes people, Bob did an actual mixtape using only tapes!!!
Recorded live at Hugo Sanchez’ Pescheria. Enjoy!

Maple Death records mixtape

Happy 2018! Let’s start the year with Canadian/Italian label Maple Death records’ mixtape, the perfect soundtrack for this cold winter. Based in Bologna, Maple Death is an hyperactive label that has 20 references in its catalogue, among them Holiday Inn, Cindy Lee and Brutal Birthday,(a killer live band.Hospitals and Electric Eels fans, go see them!).
Here’s what J.Clancy, boss of the label, told us about the mix: “It’s a mixtape that has a few Maple Death releases, but mostly showcases the type of music I’m always drawn to for the label, loners, outsiders, sad fucks that are just trying to figure out a way to get through life by creating blissful music.” Enjoy!!

DJ C Margarine's Mixtape

Endless Summer! This Month we’re very pleased to bring you DJ C Margarine’s mixtape about… FOOD!!!!
Based in Berlin, she runs the collage magazine Glueheads and does workshops too.
Check it out here:

But better let the Lady talk to you in person: “For everyone here on Earth, I’m Anelor Robin, born in the south of France in the middle of pine forests and ‘foie gras’. But to tell you the truth my real name is Margarine and I’m from the planet Pluton, born from the uterus of a motherEgg, raised by weird creatures and my best friend was a GlueHead. In terms of my work, I will say that collage is my best recipe. I find inspiration in normal daily life, with a special tendency and tenderness for food, sponges, 70’s magazine, Roman Photo, and plastic ice cream spoons that I like to collect to give a new and different twist to life.

Danger Records Mixtape

Atomic Bongos Mixtape #5! by killer blood brother french label Danger “Tempting treats from the land of distress. Some songs remind me all the time the end of the feeling of love. Here the expression of love becomes anger and frustration as a logical cycle through decades and music styles. Cry 96 tears, you will end heartless and headless.”
