DJ C Margarine's Mixtape

Endless Summer! This Month we’re very pleased to bring you DJ C Margarine’s mixtape about… FOOD!!!!
Based in Berlin, she runs the collage magazine Glueheads and does workshops too.

But better let the Lady talk to you in person: “For everyone here on Earth, I’m Anelor Robin, born in the south of France in the middle of pine forests and ‘foie gras’. But to tell you the truth my real name is Margarine and I’m from the planet Pluton, born from the uterus of a motherEgg, raised by weird creatures and my best friend was a GlueHead. In terms of my work, I will say that collage is my best recipe. I find inspiration in normal daily life, with a special tendency and tenderness for food, sponges, 70’s magazine, Roman Photo, and plastic ice cream spoons that I like to collect to give a new and different twist to life.

Danger Records Mixtape

Atomic Bongos Mixtape #5! by killer blood brother french label Danger “Tempting treats from the land of distress. Some songs remind me all the time the end of the feeling of love. Here the expression of love becomes anger and frustration as a logical cycle through decades and music styles. Cry 96 tears, you will end heartless and headless.”

Camille's Mixtape

This month we asked Camille from the Rosa Vertov Collective to create a mixtape for Radio Bongo. From Camille: “This compilation gathers the songs that have been stuck in my head in recent weeks (and some already there since several years). It brings together collectives with multiple projects, solo projets or ephemeral collaborations. It mixes melancholic Hungarian pop, the dissonant and heady sound of the post punk era as well as french 60’s songs, all songs carried by the desire of transgression and spontaneous experimentation”

Suzy's mixtape

Suzy is one of the co-founder of Atomic Bongos. She used to be a DJ at KDVS in Sacramento and is currently playing Saxophone is Two Apes.
From Suzy: Some of these songs I’ve been listening to for a decade, others I only discovered recently. When I hear something that makes my knees weak I’ll save it right away on a playlist. This mix features the songs on that playlist I’ve recently been listening to the most. It’s a bit all over the place, starting with Belgian Soul and truly powerful drumming by Zambian Psych Rock great Musi O Tunya. Nora Dean’s Ay Ay Ay follows and her enchanting voice and tropical bird sounds transition us to some beach time Surf tunes that I love. There’s a song by minstrel show performer and falsetto master Emmett Miller, and some lovely old timey country songs that warm the soul. The mix ends with some charming Australian post punk and some cold electronic sounds to guide us into the future.
